Background:
Point Reyes Grove is a sleepy little town in a modern era (think of it as 2016, or whatever the current year is when you're reading this). There are enough residents for the place to sustain itself without even any inkling of outside interaction, and that's good, because nobody knows exactly where Point Reyes is in the world. Everyone who lives here doesn't remember how they came to be within the confines of the town, but at the same time they're not even interested in figuring out how to leaveāAnd doing so would be pointless, as nobody can. One way in, no way back.
Point Reyes is home to humans, of course, but there are others, more mystical, dark or even evil creatures of the night all living under a strict masquerade, blending in with the oblivious humans. Sometimes they slip up, sometimes they get caught, and in these cases they would deal with the wrath of their faction leaders.
Due to the town's strange disposition, there is rarely a clear and sunny day to be seen. Most weather involves clouds, fog and rain.
Everything in the town (including pay and housing rent) runs on realtime, US Eastern -5 (New York City). Account balance and character stats (like health and such) should be recorded in the special fields available in personal profile editing. Anything not listed in the profile fields can be put into your signature.
Factions:
Abilities:
[li]Vanish - When well fed, able to vanish from sight immediately, but only lasts for a matter of minutes, else said vampire risks losing a large amount of blood supply.[/li]
[li]Heightened Sight - For a limited time, able to see further distances, including granting the ability for high precision target tracking.[/li]
[li]Aura Sense - Able to sense the aura of those who the vampire has fed upon, and can even track them when they are elsewhere in the town.[/li]
[/ul]
[li]Night Lupis
[/li]
The Night Lupis Pack are the werewolves of Point Reyes. These creatures are able to transform back and forth between human and wolf. May be found in all manner of places, especially forested areas and usually traveling together, or at least small groups. They are loyal to the masquerade as being caught is not good for a werewolf, especially in the eyes of the pack leader. Of course, all rules are meant to be broken. All werewolf abilities are more effective while the werewolf is in their true form and/or under the light of the moon.
Werewolves can only turn humans.

Abilities:
[li]Human Interests[/li]
Ah, humans, the unsuspecting prey? Maybe not so much. The humans of Point Reyes are mostly like any human you'd find anywhere else in the world, but due to their position in the town, like others, they aren't exactly weak prey who are completely defenseless and obtuse. They are lead by the Human Interests council that oversees the welfare of all humans in Point Reyes and keeps close documentation on supernatural occurrences throughout the town. Think of it as a civil rights board.
Humans can be turned by any of the other species as long as they agree to it.
The strength of a human may be increased at gyms.
Weaknesses: (aside from natural causes or accidents)
Abilities:
[li]The Mystic Courts[/li]
Fae, or faeries, are the most mystical of residents in Point Reyes. They are either Seelie or Unseelie, belonging to the Winter and Fall courts, under the guidance of their leader residing in The Mystic Courts. Fae enjoy doing and can do mostly what they please, sometimes specializing in baking, or working at a bar and usually have a habit of playing mind games, or using trickery to get what they want. Like werewolves, they are capable of shapeshiting, such as using glamour to hide their true form of maybe an elf, or a forest Elk. For Fae, glamour is not only completely natural, but a strong and important trait.
Most Fae all have a unique scent about them, for example, your Fae might smell like blueberries, while another might smell of pancakes. While walking together in public, a human might remark that something smells like blueberry pancakes.
Weaknesses:
Abilities:
[li]Hell's Dominion[/li]
The most sinister of races in Point Reyes, the demons are literally bound by fire, ascended from the depths of the netherworld. The Netherworld is an extra-dimension ruled by Hell's Dominion, the council that oversees demon activity on Earth, or in this case, within Point Reyes. Not a lot of rules apply to demons, but breaking the masquerade can be detrimental to anything currently set in motion. Demons are not always outright evil, sometimes they're just cunning, manipulative. They're fans of monopolizing businesses, signing away the souls of the willing in the form of contracts and possessing others to do their dark bidding for them.
A demon's blood tastes like fire and ash and are immune to any turning attempt that may be cast upon them, regardless of their human appearance. But, since they are demons, they must cover their eyes at all times, since their pupils burn with flames.
A demon cannot possess vampires, as they share a similar juxtaposition, and this may be an indirect, accidental tool for a demon to uncover the identity of suspected vampires.

These are the basics and will likely be built upon in the future! All races are designed to be as balanced and fair as possible.

Factions:
- The Kiss
- Sunlight - Doesn't outright kill a vampire here, but it will overtime, especially in large quantities.
- Stake to the heart - You'd have to be up close and personal for this.
- Fire - Such as setting fire to a vampire's home, or blasting them with a very hard to obtain flamethrower.
- Decapitation - This is something difficult to do, but if you catch them at the right time...
Abilities:
- Limited quick movement - Requires regular feeding to be useful.
- Mind control - Limited mind control in which a vampire could persuade someone to be fed upon, or to persuade them to believe that they were never fed upon.

All werewolf abilities are more effective while the werewolf is in their true form and/or under the light of the moon.
Werewolves can only turn humans.
Weaknesses:
- Pure silver - Such as a pure silver bullet shot from a gun. Note: silver necklaces and rings probably aren't pure. A small amount of silver would cause pain and burning, a bullet ripping through a werewolves flesh (laced with silver) would do lasting damage and possibly prevent shifting.
- Destroying the heart or brain - Obviously, a stab to the heart or the brain will make a dead werewolf.
- Mercury - Like silver, a mercury laced bullet is just as fatal. Also has the same effects as silver.
- Wolfsbane - A highly poisonous type of plant that can only be found in rare places around the edges of Point Reyes Forest and upon skin contact, will slowly cause the death of a werewolf.
Abilities:
- Superhuman speed - Very limited when no moon is present and outside of werewolf form.
- Heightened healing - Werewolves heal faster than humans and even vampires, who require feeding to heal any amount of damage.
- Super sense - Able to see further and even smell things anyone else would likely be unable to, like for example, the scent of blood on a vampire.
- Night vision - A limited ability to see clearly during the night, only lasts for minutes at a time unless a full moon is present.
- Bullets - Being shot in the right place will kill a human outright.
- Blood loss - Too much blood loss will kill a human, obviously.
- Bad food - Due to the Fae sometimes having nefarious motives and a penchant for serving food to others, humans may sometimes react very harshly to what they eat.
- Possession - A demon possession, if lasting longer than it should (a few hours), will end up ending the life of a human.
Abilities:
- Self Defense - If properly trained at a gym, humans are quite good at defending themselves from all manner of attacks.
- Jack of all trades - Humans are naturally better at work and money making than any other species, but can only work for a set number of hours each day.
- Marksman - If trained properly, a human can shoot very well.
- Natural immunity - If a healthy routine is maintained, a human may be immune to many different sicknesses, maybe even a werewolf scratch.
Weaknesses:
- Iron - The presence of iron can be sensed and direct ingestion can result in severe sickness, even death.
- The fair - Due to the nature of a Fae and their affinity for making deals, they are completely unable to ever break a deal, which may sometimes result in severe harm.
- Shinies - Fae are attracted to and are very easy to distract with shiny objects of any kind.
- Demon possession - A demon cannot possess a Fae, but if a demon should try, it would completely break any glamour the Fae might be using to conceal their true identity.
Abilities:
- Magic channeling - A Fae can tap into existing magic, such as demon possession or vampire manipulation, and use it as they please. They cannot create magic from thin air. Channeled magic can be broken by moving too far from the source, the Fae's weaknesses or if either of those conditions aren't met, a one hour time span.
- Psychic - Fae are capable of hearing the thoughts of those around them, but only in a sporadic manner, meaning, it doesn't happen all of the time and could be random. At most you might catch the thoughts of another character 3 times a day. If in an RP you decide to "use" this ability, you could roll a 1d20 and anything +10 would mean a successful thought reading attempt.
- Detection - Able to easily detect other Fae.
- Mark - A Fae can "mark" any member of any species as a friend or enemy of the Fae, a very useful skill for avoiding danger, as Fae are not prone to combat.

A demon cannot possess vampires, as they share a similar juxtaposition, and this may be an indirect, accidental tool for a demon to uncover the identity of suspected vampires.
Weaknesses:
- Holy water - Coming into contact with holy water, from places such as a church, will absolutely decimate a demon.
- Crosses - Bearing a cross in the presence of a demon can be extremely harmful to their health.
- Salt - A demon can be held in place, literally trapped, if surrounded by something as simple as salt.
- Exorcism - If an excorcism, i.e. a "father of God" performing a ritual occurs, a demon will be banished back to the Netherworld.
Abilities:
- Possession - A demon can, with much concentration, posses any species within Point Reyes, aside from vampires.
- Resurrection - Able to resurrect any dead species in exchange for a soul. Soul must be provided by the one making the request.
- Power transfer - If a demon transfers their power to a human, the human will become a witch, a subclass of the demons, which inherit all of the same weaknesses and may use magic such as fire, water, wind and ice. Upon the creation of a witch, specific powers (only 2) may be assigned.
- Massive Attack - Demons are able to inflict major damage against large groups of foes capable of incapacitating anyone targeting them, but only once per day.
