OOC Rules:
Roleplay Rules:
Update: ProBoards has some rules regarding sexual activity and such. If you post in the gallery, please do not post full blown pornography. As mentioned in the RP rules, please keep sexual activity completely private and if drugs are being used in RP, try to keep it moderate as to not completely glorify its usage. Basically we want to keep this board around the PG-13 rating, but due to the nature of this RP and eventual combat that happens, the method at which certain species are dispatched, I will not completely bar behavior that is specific to these things.
This will be updated as needed.
Consequences of breaking any of the rules:
How time works:
So the current setup is for the RP, overall, to be working on the EST American timezone. This may or may not provide issue in the future. Outside of that, at the time a thread is created, that thread exists solely in that timeframe until it's over. This gives the opportunity for people to participate with their character in multiple threads, as long as they're at different times, or even days. Wages and fees and so on are still operating on a 24 hour realtime basis.
We will be constantly working to evolve the RP rules, including the way time works, if need be.
Roleplay etiquette:
As you may know, when you're posting with others in a thread during an RP, it is best to post in the order of characters speaking as though you're in a line. So if John posted, Mary posted and then you did, it would cycle back around in that exact order. If would be considered rude by many if you "skipped" Mary to respond to John.
In regards to ending a scene, if all parties need to leave, or if someone who is integral to a scene has to go, the thread can be left with an OOC "on-pause" post so that it may be continued at a later time. If a single player has to leave, we would ask that you simply RP your character leaving, or if everyone has to leave and they're satisfied with what happened in the RP and would not like to continue it, simply note that the scene is over.
- Be courteous/nice to those around you.
- No bigotry, which includes homophobia, racism, transphobia and any other type of regressive political agenda meant to harm people.
- Conflicts are to be reported in the Issues and Concerns forum only (report a thread is useful too).
- 18+ only, as this is a mature RP not meant for children/teenagers. Violators will be removed from the forum.
- No trolling.
- Please no forum signatures larger than 400 wide and 200 high
Roleplay Rules:
- All abilities and actions that affect other players must use a 1d20 roll of +10 or more in order to see if they succeed.
- Do not allow OOC and RP to crossover. This means if you've got some kind of grudge against another player, do not use RP to take it out on them. Instead, please resort to private messages and forum moderators (if needed) to resolve your issue.
- I have to edit this rule, as it was about sex and includes new information. Apparently ProBoards have some pretty hefty rules about sex or "illegal activity" in roleplay. As it's stated that we only accept 18+ I will simply ask that you keep gratuitous activities (like sex) to PMs only. [check the bottom of this post after you've read the rules for more info]
- When a death is going to occur, and has been determined through dice-roll combat, no matter what, it is up to the player's consent on whether or not their character dies.
- No rape, no forced murder, no powergaming, no godmodding. Be a good lil' RPer.
- Here at Point Reyes we want to create a para-RP environment. What does that mean? Well, simply put, we would like those RPing here to type at least a paragraph for their scenes. Perfect grammar and spelling is not a requirement so long as what you typed can be understood.
- If your character is currently engaged in a fight, they are temporarily suspended from posting in other threads until the fight is over. This is simply to avoid a redacting of injuries and so on. Due to the time zone setup, threads could be taking place at different set times and even on different days. If any of this sounds confusing though, don't be afraid to ask.

Consequences of breaking any of the rules:
- First you get a warning with a statement as to why you're receiving one.
- The second time you will receive another warning and you'll be temporarily barred from entering any of the entertainment buildings (including bars, clubs, casinos).
- The third infraction will result in a complete forum suspension for three whole days.
- The fourth infraction will involve a discussion where your membership on the forum is likely removed. Note: this applies especially to volatile behavior that disrupts the fun of others.
